Hard getting used to Xbox news on what was once an all day, all night PS blog but… okay.

I like the new interface although MS seems to have stolen the best from both Apple and Sony.

First off, the interface is a lot more minimalist in approach with fewer buttons and clutter on the screen. The clear stolen feature is the Cover Flow-like screens taken directly from the iTunes library. The only thing MS did differently was keep the screen in front to the far left instead of the center picture being bigger with smaller versions on each side.

My only problem with the new interface, however, is that it doesn’t appear to really make things any easier. How many tiny screens will you have you to scroll through to get to stuff? Where’s the search feature? And while not gravely important will users be able to customize the background?

From what I understand the blade system had themes that people had to actually buy. What happens to those themes? With a shiny floor and gradient filled back wall, how will the ability to customize the interface work out?

And will that interface go away when you go into Netflix seeing as they have a red backdrop when your browsing their library?

Again, not bad but not the Minority Report-like interface I thought I was going to see.

While it is more colorful than the XMB I think Sony’s still got the better interface although I still think they can certainly refine it to make it better.
