Comic-Con ’08: Jim Lee Talks DC Universe Online
DC Comics executive creator Jim Lee spoke today on the game, saying he approached SOE about the project.
In DC Universe Online players will be able to play as a good or evil super-powered character. Every character has their own characteristics such as power type, power source, movement type, etc. Lee spoke on what type of character he’d be when the game shipped.
“I haven’t decided,” he said. “I’ll probably have one public character and one private character — a villain.”
Lee also mentioned alter-egos will play a role in the game, example: Superman as Clark Kent. That means you may have to spend some time as a low-paid photographer, or just a normal guy walking among the streets with everyone else.
Lee has also mentioned that some of the characters we’ve already seen are undergroing visual improvements. “The Joker is one character I wanted to tweak,” he said, while noting that the Joker from The Dark Knight may have been the cause of the change. One definite reason for the change though was the Joker’s look didn’t really fit the look of the other non-playable DC characters.
Hey Jim Lee, we have a question. Will we be seeing any Static Shock characters in the game? Oh how we miss Hot-Streak.
