This is AWESOME!!! Finally something that NO ONE else is doing. While it’s too bad they can’t get this out every week or two weeks I can also understand that they may not have enough exclusive content to get something out that soon.

Besides, it is a “magazine” so monthly is more than okay.

Very nice. Thursday can’t come soon enough. And the price is right too. Actually it’s quite the deal.

    I’d like this in Europe.

I just read some comments on Kotaku where most Xbots are using this as an opportunity to dig on Sony for charging for demos and content.

On the one hand I see their point but only if Sony starts to skimp out on demos in the PSN Store. So long as they still provide demos and access to betas without the need to subscribe then Qore won’t be a distraction or a way for Sony to sneak a subscription fee.

On the other hand, you still don’t need to pay to play online like XBL so Qore is NOTHING like XBL in that sense.

I think this is great but, again, only if Sony doens’t stop doing what they’re doing now regarding demos and betas. Then again, paying $3 bucks for a beta along with all the other exclusive content they’ll provide isn’t such a bad thing either. Wasn’t there a demo for Halo bundled with Crackdown? I know there’ve been other betas that are only available if you buy a certain game. While your $60 bucks nets you a game the big incentive to getting the game is access to the beta.

The Socom beta is most likely for the open beta, which comes after the closed beta of which neither have started yet.

I do NOT like this. Seriously this is a move towards a “Xbox LIVE” like service! Now you have to subscribe? Seriously I bet you guys, it’s going to end up being that demos will come out a week earlier and you have to wait a week if you’re a non-subscriber, just like the Gold service on LIVE.

    BAD FORM SONY BAD FORM!

I wont judge this until I see it in action. People might be overthinking it and it might be a really good thing. Maybe it wont be, but since it is coming, I wont judge until I see it. Then we can let Sony have it if need be.
