Leaked Image of v2.40 Trophies Profile? [Update]

Here we have what appears to be a leaked shot of v2.40′s trophy support, supposedly. The avatar in the image (Clank) is real, and this image is actually clear unlike others. The only thing we are noticing is Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum trophies? We have no idea how this will be involved in the system, but expect to hear something from Sony soon.

Update 9:12PM: Another tipster has sent in more information as well as another screenshot to PS3Fanboy, claiming he is a game developer who can vouch for what was previously sent in. The new screenshot shows a “gamer card” and “compare” page for the firmware. The screen shows a trophy total and level.

According to the tipster, each trophy will be worth a certain amount of points, limiting the amount of trophies in each game. If you want to level up, you must gain a certain number of trophy points and your level will increase.

Regarding in-game XMB, the tipster says that “you can do most things” while using the XMB in-game such as comparing trophies. Pressing the PS Button brings up the XMB, and holding it down brings up the menu you see now when you press the PS Button. Lets hope Sony says something about 2.40 soon, because we are getting a bit too anxious.

    If it’s true and these pictures are real then I’m glad to finally see it but I have to say that it looks a bit bland.

    Hopefully they’ll improve the look over time similar to how Home started out with some of its graphics and the overall interface has improved.

    With these pictures being leaked maybe it’s a good sign that we’ll see the update very soon. YAY!

    Hmm so what is Sony doing to prevent the saves issue though? One of the coolest features of the PS3 in my opinion is being able to just download a “completed” save to try out those unlockables that you might not have to time to get.

    Is Sony gonna change how the Save system is used? Maybe attach PSN usernames to saves?

    Well i do know that with DMC4 saves you can’t use the rankings from the original user online with the user you’re on now. I copied my saves to my other user, and that message popped up when i loaded the game. So it may already be taken care of.
