Could This Be the New Sony Controller?

The video says it all. It’s actually a pretty cool idea, the way he throws grenades makes me want to play games like that. But if anything, I’m pretty good with my controller the way it is now. What are your thoughts?

    What the…? Where in the world did this come from? Who is this guy? Where did he get the prototype from?

    You can’t just post stuff like this on the web and not give more info like who the person is being interviewed, who’s interviewing the guy and for what purpose, etc, etc, etc.

    This is great news and it’s nice to see Sony doing different things but, and this is just me talking, I think it would’ve been smarter to just hold off on the Dual Shock until this new two-hander Dual Shock was finished. We dealt with the SIXAXIS for well over a year. If this new controller could be finished in the next 6 to 9 months then I’d rather wait for it and be ready for all the games that will take advantage of it.

    While Sony has more or less written off the SIXAXIS the media will pounce on Sony for releasing so many different controllers.

    I hate to sound like I’m pissing all over what could potentially be the second coming in controllers but with all the delays and bad PR stories like the Ninja Theory issue releasing yet another controller into the wild (with questionable support from third-parties as it will probably take more than a year before someone comes up with a proper use for it) Sony is starting to worry me.

    i would have assumed that they would have made better use of sixaxis as is. it isnt terrible just not used to its potential..

    balancing on a log in uncharted.. good

    canon balls in heavenly sword.. good

    Playing Twing Twang in Heavenly Sword (especially when you protect the old man walking down the path).. excellent

    driving in gta4.. meh

    lair.. cant call it.

    My concern would be wear and tear on the connectors that keep the controller together. how long before they just dont stick/connect anymore?
