Orange Box Petition Reaches 1,000 Signatures

The petition for The Orange Box on the PLAYSTATION 3 has finally reached over 1,000 signatures. We know that isn’t anything amazing, but it is a start. For those of you that are uninformed, a fellow gamer started this petition for those of us who’ve been ripped off by all the various faults in the PLAYSTATION 3 version.

It has been months since the release of the EA developed Orange Box, and they’ve issued one patch that fixed barely anything. We know 1,000 signatures is not enough, so if you support the petition (we hope you do), head over to the link.

I don’t think PS3 owners were ripped off. It may be the worst version of teh game but if valve had there way, it would have never been produced.

    PC > 360 > PS3 version of the game.

And if your realy that unhappy about it, read reviews before buying games and if there is flaws and bugs with a game dont’ buy it.

    Only 1000?

I understand what Boberman said, and to some extent I do agree with it. However, I’m not blaming Valve for this product–I’m blaming EA for their lack of concern over the quality therein.

I signed the petition despite not owning the game, specifically because I think that game companies (especially big ones like EA) should be held to some quality standards. I could understand if a small studio came out with a budget title and it wasn’t the best in the world, but EA? There’s no excuse for them treating their fans (do they have any fans anymore?) like garbage in this way.

It is a buyer beware sort of situation, but expectations for The Orange Box were set very high, and EA didn’t even come close to meeting them, so I think that patching it is the least they could do, seeing as customers are by and large unhappy with the game.

Think about it realistically, EA can afford to make games that flop because they generate so much revenue from other games. But is that an excuse to slack off? Not in my opinion. I demand the best from what I purchase, and I did not purchase this game for that very reason, but I still believe EA is responsible for the problems people have with the game, and that it should be significantly patched to rectify them.
