As it has been seen in recent trends, most noticeably Japan, the PSP is selling incredibly well. It has even been topping the Nintendo DS for a while now and with that being said, the PSP is not going anywhere any time soon.

Japan has always had the trend of having more limited editions of all its consoles, whether it be the silver PS2’s or the white PS3’s. The U.S. and Europe have always lagged behind in these areas, but the PSP has seen better treatment as of late. We have seen the release of a number of limited editions here such as the white Crisis Core edition and the late God of War “Blood Red” version. This August we will be graced with the “Metallic Blue” edition PSP, which will come bundled in the “Madden NFL 09 Entertainment Pack”.

This year is the 20th anniversary for the Madden series and hopefully the fellas over at EA can really rejuvenate the series as they have recently extended their contract with the NFL. No competition in any genre can lead to a stale game and Madden is definitely in need of some new content.

The “Madden NFL 09 Entertainment Pack” will include a limited-edition “Metallic Blue” PSP system, the Madden NFL 09 game, NFL: In Just One Play on UMD Video, a PLAYSTATION Network voucher to download Beats from the Playstation Store, and a 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo.

This actually is a pretty decent deal for $199.99 for anyone looking to get a PSP. As a sidenote, even if you do not pick up this bundle or even Madden, Beats is a game worth looking at. It’s a highly addictive rhythm game that utilizes the music you put on your PSP and it sells on the Playstation Store for $4.99. It’s worth every penny.

The “Madden NFL 09 Entertainment Pack” bundle will be available August 12th.
