The latest 1UP special interviewed Jose Perez III, lead game designer for Dark Void. The game’s tech will feature upgrades, such as the jetpack: at first you can hover, later on you can fly. The main character has also received a major overhaul. The video also shows gameplay of the main character stealing a UFO in mid-air. Watch the whole video for more details. Enjoy!

I’m a little turned off by the sounds of the gun. It sounds very much like a toy, although it could be video quality, or any number of things. When I fire a gun, I want to hear a GUN…

I thought the same thing: the gun sound effect kinda sucks. They need to make it sound a bit more beefy. Hopefully there are more weapons to choose from that are just as effective (or more effective) than the machine gun that won’t sound so wimpy.

Overall, though, the game looks hot. I love how the main character’s arms and hands move when he’s flying the air. Plus taking down a UFO looks super cool. Sort of reminds me of the scene when Kratos takes down a Pegasus and rips its wings off.

If they manage to improve the sound of the machine gun I won’t even bother renting this, I’ll buy it!
